What's at stake?

Week 1

• For the first week, please join whichever lobby has the fewest number of participants. We will have 2 lobbies (or a 3rd if more than 32 people).
• If there are 2 lobbies, the top 2 from the prior season should split into separate lobbies. If there are 3 lobbies, the top 3 from the prior season should split between the 3 lobbies.

Weeks 2 through 6

• For Weeks 2 through 6, anyone in the Top 12 in points will join 1 dedicated lobby (Group A)
• Anyone outside of the top 12 (including new people or people who missed the first week) will join whichever Group B lobby has the fewest number of participants and/or are encouraged to split evenly between the 2 lobbies. There are typically 2 Group B lobbies, but this might shrink to 1 if attendance is low - any announcements made in Discord will be official.
• Tiebreakers:
  • If there is a tie in points for any position going beyond the top 12 (example, 2 people tied for 12th, 3 people tied for 11th, etc.), they will still stay in Group A assuming we don't have a tie which exceeds the room cap (16). 
  • Any tie beyond 16th impacting room seedings will dictate that participants would run in Group B for that week.

Finale Rules

• Group A for the Finale will be expanded up to the top 16 in points (factoring drops).
• Group B will be anyone in positions 17 to 32 in points (factoring drops).
• Group C will be anyone 33 or lower in points (factoring drops)
• Tiebreaking procedure:
  • If there is a tie leading up to the Finale for who makes Group A vs B, or Group B vs C, it will be based on whoever has more total points (not factoring drops). 
  • If there is still a tie and it creates a challenge to the number of people able to enter a lobby (example, 2 people tied for 16th place, therefore exceeding the limits of the A room), both people will move to the B room. 
  • For starting position in the race if there is still a tie, it will be done by whoever had the most points in the prior week. If there's still a tie, it will be from the week prior, with the process repeating for any subsequent ties. If there is still a tie going all the way back to the start of the season for each race, both people owe Alex Piehl a beer and they'll do a 1 lap qualifying challenge at a track/car combo announced by Alex Piehl 1 hour before the start of the Finale race, with the fastest person getting the higher seeding. 
• Room reseeding:
  • If anyone in Group A announces their absence in advance of the Finale, the next highest ranked person in points (factoring drops) is given the option to move up to the A room. If there are multiple absences, the process will repeat until someone from Group B does not elect to move up. Anyone below the person not electing to move up will not have the option to move up, even if there are still spaces available. 
  • If there are fewer than 16 people planning to attend the Finale between Groups B and C combined, they shall all run in the Group B room and be eligible for Group B points. 
  • If there are more than 16 people planning to attend the Finale, Groups B and C shall have no fewer than 8 participants each. If it does not impact the minimum required number of participants, anyone who has completed at least all but one of the prior weeks of the season can elect to run in Group B or Group C for the finale. If multiple people plan to move and it would impact the room minimums (8 each), preference should be communicated in advance and will be given to the highest ranking person in points (including drops).
